Authentication
Authenticate to FuseProxy proxies with a username and password, or with an allowlist of up to five server IPs so no credentials are stored in your code.
FuseProxy supports two authentication methods: Username and password, IP allowlist (up to 5 IPv4 addresses).
Username and password
Put the credentials in the proxy URL:
http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT
socks5h://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORTIf your password contains special characters such as @, : or /, URL-encode them (@ becomes %40).
You can reset the password from the dashboard at any time. Update every application that uses the old password when you do.
IP allowlist
Add the public IP address of each server that connects to the proxy. Requests from those IPs are accepted without a username or password:
curl -x "http://HOST:PORT" https://api.ipify.org- Up to 5 IPs per account.
- IPv4 addresses only.
- An IP can be on only one account's allowlist.
Which method should I use?
| Situation | Method |
|---|---|
| Servers with fixed public IPs | IP allowlist |
| Laptops, CI runners or serverless functions with changing IPs | Username and password |
| Tools that cannot send proxy credentials | IP allowlist |
