Use cases

What are residential proxies used for?

Web scraping

Each request leaves from a different household IP, so sites with strong bot protection see ordinary visitors instead of one busy server.

How it works

How do rotating residential proxies work?

You connect to one FuseProxy gateway address. For every request, the gateway picks a household IP that matches your targeting, so the target site sees a home connection, not your server.

  1. Connect to the gateway

Point any HTTP or SOCKS5 client at the gateway host and port, with your username and password or from an allowlisted IP.

  2. An IP is picked for you

The gateway selects a residential IP from the pool that matches your country, city, state, ZIP or ASN targeting.

  3. The site sees a real home

Your request leaves from a household connection and the response comes back to you through the gateway.

Sessions

Rotating or sticky: which session mode do you need?

Two session modes control how often the exit IP changes. Both are included in every plan.

Rotating sessions

A new IP on every request. Best for high-volume scraping where each request stands alone.

Sticky sessions

The same IP for 1 to 120 minutes. Best for logins, carts and paginated results.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is a rotating residential proxy?
A rotating residential proxy sends each request through a different household IP address from a large pool. Because the IPs belong to real home connections, websites treat the traffic like normal visitors, which makes blocks and CAPTCHAs much less likely than with datacenter IPs.
How is residential proxy traffic billed?
You buy GB packages and pay only for the traffic you send and receive through the proxy. Larger packages have a lower price per GB, as shown in the pricing table.
Can I keep the same IP for a whole session?
Yes. Sticky sessions keep one IP for between 1 and 120 minutes, which is useful for multi-step flows such as logging in or paginating through results. Without a session, the IP changes on every request.
Can I target a specific city or ASN?
Yes. Country targeting is included in the standard rate. City, state, ZIP and ASN targeting are available too, but traffic sent with those filters counts at twice the standard rate.
Are residential proxies legal?
Using a proxy is legal in most countries. What you do through it must still follow the law and the target site's terms. FuseProxy's acceptable use policy prohibits fraud, credential attacks and other abuse, and blocked targets are enforced at the gateway.
